compass rallye 574
Hi guys hope someone can help me, i am picking up my new van on the 8th march and getting really excited because i have never had a new van. My problem is that everywhere i read it keeps saying about the cracks in the front and rear panels of the rallye/eldiss, and the problems getting them done under warranty, i am even debating giving up my £1000 deposite if it is that bad. Have not heard of a van which has been fit for purpose.

I think I have just joined the Eldiss 'cracking club', purchased a brand new 2014 Compass Omega 482 beginning of November 2015, fifth time out last week and when putting up our new porch awning and threading it through the channel, saw a small crack in the
rear panel, above where the rear side marker light is. Still got 8 months left on the warranty so the dealer will be informed. When you read the Eldiss warranty information front and rear panels have only a 12 month warranty! The caravan must have been on the dealers forecourt for 9 months or so, it did have a good discount and I have only done around 700 miles towing it.

Sorry to hear that Chris, it makes you wonder if there really is that many affected caravans or if its because you just hear of the bad cases, mind you have not heard of anyone really happy with there eldiss.

It would be good to have the numbers of failures to put this problem into perspective, but the numbers affected on this and other forums is not insignificant.
I cancelled my Elddis Xplore order on the basis of the poor warranty on the front and rear panels, as well as their aparent propensity to crack.
Not willing to take the chance
Bought a Bailey, and very happy with it.
Best of luck whatever you decide.

It is impossible to be sure how serious the problem is as you normally here from those with problems notbthose happy. When people complain you get the odd person saying they are happy so there is another side to the story.
The Practical Caravan survey last year suggested Eldiss have a 75% satisfaction rate which is worse than any other manufacturer but must show only a minority suffer the problem. Given what it must have cost Eldiss you would hope that they are trying to correct
the problem.0
