I started to read this thread and was thinking 'why even bother with them when there are cylinders from Safefill available. Lightweight, Quality Cylinders which you fill yourself at a quarter of the price?' But I see others have found this amazing product! I think Safefill will be the Default choice of caravanners in a few years time. I bought a Stainless tail so no worries for 20years!

Are you still looking for a Calor Lite bottle ?
We've just gone Safefill so have an empty Calor Lite available.

To avoid running out completely, I have a Camping Gas cylinder that I can put on for the short time needed to get a replacement cylinder. Then it is taken off again and stowed at home until the cylinder gets low again.

DabeandVicki, yes I am still looking for a cylinder and would be interested in buying yours from you.

Am I right in thinking you are in Lincoln area ?
If so, and you can wait until the weekend we can have a drive over as I want to check something on the caravan at Oakhill Leisure.

I'm the newark side of lincoln but am going on holiday on Friday so not about at the weekend. I'm not in a hurry for the gas as I have plenty to last me this trip away. Can I arrange to come and get it when I get back? How much are you looking for it??

If you want to email me d.musgrave908@gmail.com then we can arrange something.
As to what we want, we are open to haggling. You may be surprised.

I have an empty cylinder in my garage that I want to replace and all three places where I would normally change them, two hardware stores and Go Outdoors have no stock and it seems that they have not had any for some time. It wouldn't be the end of the world
to go for the heavy 6kgs cylinder but would prefer the Lite. I wonder if this is a replay of a previous Calor saga with the aluminium cylinders of years ago?David

BP (Gas Light) is a far superior product - lighter than Calor and you can see the liquid level. We have bought a Motorhome with built-in gas tanks so I have two empty ones and a bulkhead hose available which I just listed on eBay. Can't post them I am afraid
but if you live anywhere near Maflow you can collect.0 -
Harry, try C&CC site at Teversal. (I think they would sell to non members)
We had to go to York to get a replacement under the recall last year.
There is a Calor stockist just down the street from work (in Worksop) I could ask there for you.

Thanks Dave, I'm South Notts area so will try here first. I'm not desperate for a bottle, I have a full one still on the van but need a refill for the other before I go on holiday.
I just thought I would ask the question on "Live Char" not that it did much good.
Thanks for your kind offer.

Well Calor still haven't replied to my email from ages ago even though they say they answer emails in 24 hours!

Have you tried Charles Lomax and Son Ltd
Whitemoor Lodge
Nuttall Road
Bobbers Mill
Nottingham
NG8 5AFThese are supposedly a main distributer that we were directed to for last years recall. (They had a very long waiting list)

Yes the aluminium cylinders were great. They cost more for the gas and, true to form, tightwad caravanners wouldn't pay the extra pennies to use them. I was very disappointed when they were discontinued.

I can't believe that the calor lite cylinder availability issue is still happening. It's 12 months since we we tried to exchange ours at Swindon Caravans and they wouldn't take it off us. I Quite happy though for us to pay a deposit for a fresh non-lite
cylinder though.0 -
I've just posted this on another thread, I have 2 Calor lite bottles that I no longer need, live in South Yorks if anyone wants them?
Husky, off you pop.....

When are you Calor users going to see the light? Just refilled my near empty Safefill 7.5 Kg cylinder for £5.43 at Morrison's in Morecambe.

When are you Calor users going to see the light? .
When they make a cylinder that will fit in the gas locker of my Motorhome?
At 305 mm it is too wide to fit and my van (Elddis 115) is hardly rare.....
Oh, and looking at the prices of cylinders on their website I can buy a lot of Calor for £170 odd quid !!
Horses for courses I guess....
