Does anyone actually book 'guided tours?'

while I appreciate that this might be a comfort blanket for some new to touring in Europe. Has any one ever booked one of the CC organised tours? The prices, to me, seem like a complete rip off. The cost of one tour sometimes would take me over our yearly
budget. Shocking!

I qualify this by saying some of the tours do actually look good.

Many of the tours look good but the price puts us off although if no one booked them they would not exist. Did meet a couple on the ferry coming back from one and they had nothing but praise for it.

Another David, I think you'd be a fantastic tour leader for C.C. trips! Happy

We did a CC Dutch bulbfields tour in 1999 based at Camping Koningshof and thoroughly enjoyed it. Also been on numerous Continental holiday rallys and even organised or help organise a few as well. Last organised tour we did was in 2010  which was a commercially organsied tour of Morocco. Enjoyed them all. Don't knock them until you have tried them.

If you want company, a well organised holiday rally can be good value for money.

we were thinkin of going on one club tours to dutch bulb fields but priced it up and it was cheaper to go on a coach tour so we  are going in april  and it includes 4 nights on ship on canal and 3 tours and all meals and no hassle bassett.

As we now have several years of month long trips,we are considering an ACSI Norway tour because... we get on well BUT OH needs to talk to a lot more people than me when away for that length of time (other than people we meet at the water cooler!) They claim the trips, meals an discounts make it good value (haven't checked) So we may give this a try although the regular moves seem a bit intensive.

Cost is never a problem to more people than you think!

People are willing to afford all sorts of things where as others would shy away at the cost. Clearly they must be reasonably popular otherwise the Club would not run so many, year on, year on?

We looked at going on the St Petersburg trip for something different with the van but whilst afordability is`nt an issue I could`nt get the costs to add up to anything like something resembling a realistic cost or to put it another way value for money. If
I`m honest the the draw of the south and sun influenced us as well.
