Just to let you know, DVLA sent me a letter two weeks ago informing me that my driving licence was going to expire in July and I should apply for a new one as well as cutting my old one up and returning it to them.
I duly cut up my old paper one and returned it to DVLA, though I was rather sorry to see it go as it was my original paper one (two changes of address) without a blemish and devoid of any points
I applied for my new one on line and as my passport was up to date I didn't need to send any photos, I just gave them permission to view my passport digitally. It was an easy process just ticking boxes..........My new photocard licence arrived in the post four days ago, it even had my signature transposed from my passport, it is valid untill 2019, it was a painless, easy, application and did not cost me a penny, can't ask for fairer than that can you?.....

We seem to have a lot of people saying that. Someone suggested they're responding to "You're logged in as A N Other. Not you?"

Just a word of warning to anyone with a declareable health condition and approach 70 . I filled in all the forms and thankfully did NOT destroy my old license and that was last JUNE/JULY despite having 2 letters to confirm they were working on it I STILL have no new license! I missed hiring a car in France due to that although I have been told the old one might have worked as it did when I bought a new car n October! My doctor has confirmed I am fit to drive and I have just about stopped worrying but it's pretty bad of them I think!
