I'd always check B Palace first due to so many events being held there...Elton John in June for starters.Wink

Surely the difference between here and there is looking a bit biased towards retired and touring? What about families who need to book, who stay put for their two or three week breaks? Should they book ahead?

you are right in some ways Brue, no doubt being able to just go on a whim, any time, any day, any month does help. Interestingly enough, I am limited to when I can go, and it has to be at a weekend, setting off Saturday. We have always loathed being away
at weekends, too busy for us, but got no choice at moment. Still very easy though. It isn't difficult to guess which places or areas will be very busy at certain times, and Cotswolds/Oxford area is super busy in June, early July and September. No secret why,
we know it as the "wrinkly period" an affectionate rather than derogatary term, but let's just say those that can will be away avoiding school holidays!
