I've just heard that NR Awnings have closed.  Apparently the factory was effected by a recent flood and their stock and tools were all destroyed in the flood and the factory had no insurance  (I presume because of the cost because of a previous similar claim?).
A sad loss for caravanners and for the workforce.

That's right David.  The recent flooding around the Todmorden area has closed businesses which is terribly sad for all concerned.

I think it was not the first time they had been flooded. There was a view expressed that because of competition from the Far East/China where I assume all the light weight awnings that are now popular come from that buying new equipment would not give them the return to make it all worthwhile. We have had several NR awnings over the years and they have always been of a good quality and I also found them an accomodating company to deal with. A great shame.

Really sad to hear the news about NR awnings, we've had their awnings for all our caravans over the years and never had a problem with them. It's really sad for the workforce coming this soon after Xmas just hope they can find suitable employment in the
    area.

A sad loss. Not sure why they are getting floods now when there was no problem when they started. It is time the government helped firms like this.
