Does anyone fancy a short break in November?   I've always avoided Skegness for a holiday, too many kiss me quick hats, burger joints, etc. but wanting a short break somewhere close it looks like a great place to spend a few days for a change of view and
a breath of sea air (at this time of year it might just be a blast rather than a breath).  Skegness Sands is an affiliated site but does subscribe to the half price midweek pitch fees offer meaning that it will cost just under £10 a night.  I'm booking 15th
to 18th.

I am up for that Peter - at least I think I am - I haven't caught up with my tail after a long time away.

The good news is that the East wind seems to have disappeared - I hope it stays away!  But as Jane says it can be very bracing!  For those who might be interested in the seals - the first one was born on the 25th October last year so there might be a few - although that is a bit further up the coast there is an excellent thatched pub en route!

Hoping to do Wednesday to Saturday or Sunday, if the caravan is sorted. Taking it in on Thursday to see what they can do about the crack and the leak.

I am booked - Kim if you want to be sure of Friday night you need to book (weekends get booked up) - or you could end your break at mine.  Never mind the leak - there is plenty of time to fix that!   Nice lady took a £20 deposit from me and is trying to
site us together so let her know you are part of the Solos Group (of caravanners and motorhomers!)

This has turned into quite a nice busy little meet hasn't it.  I'm really looking forward to it.  I never thought about the seals Pippa. That could be a nice little bonus and be another subject for a watercolour painting too.  I must remember to bring my
    camera.

First seal pup has arrived today Smile and you can normally get within touching distance - not that it's a great idea to put your fingers through the fence!  If my profile pic changes - that was just inches away.   Just be sure to bring YOU this time please Peter!

Just getting ready for the off - hoping to see the big moon tonight but I think thats a bit optimistic!  I think there may be a lot of light polution from the offshore wind farms though.

Have fun at Baltic Wharf.  Only snag here is the grass pitches are being upgraded to hard standing.  I hope they don't start work too early!  Weather is warm but set to chill down on Wednesday.  Warden seems amenable to siting us together more or less but
the site is tiny anyway unless I have missed something.

Lovely view of the moon just now although a bit late to see it was different.

Arrived a little bit later than I expected as my conservatory took loonger to finish.  Forgot to put the milk in the fridge, put the wrong mains cable in the caravan,  the one that is too short so had to go and find another one.  I also discovered that since
going back to the dealer for a waranty repair one of my mains sockets isn't working,  the one for the TV, as well as that the heated towel rail is off too so the bathroom is freezing.  On the bright side it is a beautiful morning.  Wall to wall blue sky though
I have not poked my nose outside yet to see how cold it is.  I'd better make a start and find out what is wrong with my electrics.

I hope everyone got home safely - it was a lovely stay - unfortunate about the Dog Poisoning - still no idea if it was fact or Facebook fiction - but supposedly on the beach by the site.  We just kept the dogs on the sea washed sand in case.

I enjoyed it too, especially our visit to Donna Nook to see all the adult and newborn seals.   We were very lucky with the weather . ..... dry and bright, although cold and windy.  Like we said  ... Skegness is so bracing  Happy
