Been a caravanner for the past 30 years, but never been abroad with it. Became a widow at the beginning of 2015, decided to sell up 2016 and purchased a new motor home, I am now 3 months into a 18 month adventure, would like to join rally group, I'd singles
loners etc, more importantly would like to meet anyone who is travelling to southern Spain after Christmas who has experience with this process. Regards

Being a solo traveller you might like to post this in the Solo section where I'm sure you will receive lots of answers.

Or maybe a Mod will move it for youSmile

Hello Roger 3579 and welcome to Club Together.  as you can see, I've moved your post into the Solo Caravanning and Touring Section where you are more likely to get responses.

This is in no way intended to cause you any distress but you say you're a widow but have the username Roger 3579.  Do you mean widower?

    Many Thanks.

Thank you for taking the time out to reply, yes I am a widower, having tremendous fun touring Scotland the last 3 months with my retriever dog, at the Black Isle watching the Dolphins, about to continue our travels into northern England, i will continue
to collate as much info as possible before I book our adventure in Jan, down to Spain, therefore any additional information will be gladly accepted. Regards

Welcome to Solos Roger I share your enjoyment of Scotland and the Dolphins in particular.  Good luck with your adventure to Spain.  I would also follow the Overseas threads as there are a limited number of Solos (so far) who travel to Spain but lots of couples who do.  I think about it occasionally but so far it's only thinking!  I quite enjoy winter by the fire etc.  but who knows?

There are quite a few members of the New Companions Camping Club who go abroad every winter.  The arrangements are usually made at the AGM  meet held at Stratford on Avon in September. I am hoping to go to Spain mid-January (can't get away sooner)

Hello samsmum unable to access wifi the pass two weeks, I am contacting The caravan club to purchase their edition of 2017 going abroad because I want to cross the "t" and dot the "I" before I miss the opportunity. At this point the only two things I do
know, one, I shall be crossing via the channel tunnel, two, duration 3 months. Please keep in touch

Roger 3579, i am investigating c&c club rally at La Manga, and travelling via Santander probably for six weeks as I wont be taking the dog. He has wilted in the heat. A friend has offered to tow me down so that big challenge has probably been covered. Thinking
of joining a rally for companionship and support if needed. Lets hope we both have a wamer Jan tolook forward to.

    Hi Samsmum,

When planning your journey consider Plymouth to Bilbao leaving circa midnight on a Sunday, a whole day at sea and arriving on a Tuesday at 07.30. Gives you  a whole days relaxed motoring on the motorways, followed by a stop 1/2 way down Spain for one or
two nights before completing the rest of the journey.

Thanks  redface, i'm flying  to spain, but the person towing said he'd rather have a leisurely tow through france than risk bay of biscay in winter and bad weather through high ground. I will test the bay of biscay in october on a different trip....already
    bought the kwells!
