Ken I hope you had a good one.  I can't believe the weather a balmy 15.5 Degrees at midnight!  Sunroof half open (in case of rain or it would be wide open!) plus the kitchen window wide open!

Sue if you saw a caravan driving round (and round) Burnham on Monday it was me!  I took a wrong turn trying to find the M4 from my son's place and the closed bridge didn't help except when I got there at least I knew where I was!  No fun at all some of those roads with a c'van!  Next time I am down there I will let you know and we can have a cuppa somewhere I CAN find?  Actually I think I can find the M4 from there now!

Hi Pippah45 you were so brave driving round that area. I think l would have freaked out. Is your unit big?  You were so close to me you could have popped in for a coffee what a shame!! Mind you l live off a long road with loads of speed bumps. Where did
you stay at your sons ? On a camp site?  Sue

Hi Viv now we've decided on a day shall we have a think about where to meet?  I'll put my thinking cap on if you do too and maybe we could come up with somewhere. Not sure about the gentleman?  Who was going to meet up or if he's still interested. Sue

Not all that big Sue but I am not very comfortable on those roads -however the natives were possibly more scared or surprised!  There was just space to park at my son's which was lucky as not much is open at this time of year.  I needed the van to keep out of the way of the newborn and his Mum.  Pippa

9th is fine with me. J13 on m4 looks about midway between you two. There is a pub in Chieveley just off the junction. If thats of interest I will check if it is still open...been a while since I last went there. Could do lunch if that fits with you??  Martin

    Hi Sue/Viv

Ye Olde Red Lion at Chievely still seems to be active judging by the web site.

How about meeting there at 12.30? It's just north of the M4 at J13 ..follow signs to Chievely and the pub is on the left in the village.

Hi Martin Had a chat with this man selling the caravan. And he said that it had had a service in October and sent me the report but l couldn't understand the handwriting. But the man selling said that the inspector said there was a small damp patch by fridge.
Do you think l should walk away?  If you send me your email then I'll send you the report. Sue

Sue - from bitter experience - I would rather go with a Caravan Sales group selling a van than a private sale - how about that place on the A4 near towards Newbury from you?  You have more come back on a commercial dealer and about zero on a private seller.  Check it out thoroughly whatever you go with please!  It might be worth going on the Main Website to ask others for advice?

If I may contribute (whilst browsing Solos to research singles' events for this year) I would endorse Pippa's advice.

A  report that's illegible (either by accident or intention) is not any help at all, and 'a small damp patch' could be anything. At this cold and rainy time of year when the 'van will be unavoidably shut up for long periods you really don't want to start off with problems, even if it's only through condensation and not a direct leak.

    Good luck.

Just spent the after with Martin and Sue! Good company and nice meal!  perhaps in the winter months when people are less likely to go out in the caravan or motorhome we should have a six weekly meet up in a pub for lunch?

Hi Sue I also lost my husband in December 2014, we had a 27 foot caravan I had never towed it but I bought an 18 foot coachman and I now tow it, I have a mover and have been away a few times with it, not good at reversing, I haven't joined a club yet but
I might just join the solo group.

Write your comments here...hi there, Solos is not a club, that's why it works so well!  You book into a meet or greet by booking the site for the days you want, choose your pitch where you want and look out for the Solos sign in a window. If it's a largish
meet (3or more) we usually let the wardens know we are solos, they usually tell you where we are!

We are not into dating, nor do we have rules or subscriptions, just fun!

watch diary dates and one along to a meet you fancy!  Ohm I forgot... Welcome!
