The  Ideal  place  for  fast  growing  teenagers  is,  surely,  under  the  'van  &  in  well  zipped  arctic  sleeping  bags  --  Keeps  them  close  to  Nature,  dontcha know  !!

    P.S.

The  Punjabi  Rifles  are  looking  for  you, Cholmondely-Smythe  --  they  seem  to  have  an  outstandng  Mess  Bill  or  some  such  paper  !!

    Dear CT,

I had my Chimney swept the other week & was darned surprised when the sweep turned up with mechanical aids to do the job. Whatever happened to the excellent practice of sending a child up the chimney, they don't know they're born these days.
I think the CC should be campaigning to get us back to the Victorian era, the good old days without a doubt.

yours faithfully colonel(ex Punjabi rifles) cholmondly-Smythe(DFS, MFI, MRSA)

    MRSA?

Don't think even JVB would want that. Wink

The highlights of the show for me were meeting up with CT friends - AND deciding I don't like some of the New Fangled stuff so may go for a second hand one or get a few things fixed in current van.  I was interested that I was taken seriously this year as
a Solo female I am used to not being seen as a serious buyer.  This year I took my tape measure to make sure the beds were long enough and the salesmen were falling over themselves to chat!  One I asked about the heating off EHU he confidently said the fan
will last 5 days on battery power - hmmm - it will?  Perhaps without using the water pump or the TV or any lights?  Another talked me out of buying a new van when discussing the repairs I said would be expensive on my old van - he replied that it was expensive
to buy a new one - fair point but ..... Worried

Ah yes the good old days....Undecided

There's still no excuse to ignore the fact that youngsters nowadays are much taller than they used to be. Both mine were 1.75m at 11 when they started high school

Could you translate this please into old fashioned English Happy

In all seriousness do you actually describe your height in metric?

Yes I do describe height and weight in metric as that's what I use. I believe there are conversion calculators available for those who still live in the early 1970s Laughing

Not me BT. If I'm still in the uk I'll be refusing to learn the 'new' measurements for 43 years or so.

The precedent has been set ...

On the basis that we use miles i never use metric measurements, but then all to their own.  I would never critise anybody for using their preffered unit of measurements.

Back on topic never went to the show so can't commentLaughing

All of it but especially talking to specialist companies and finding out that the future for non EHUers is very bright indeed! Much encouragement from small energetic firms. I love the shows!
