I am thinking of purchasing a folding electric bike, and I wondered if anyone had any experiences to offer any advice. For example ease of folding, weight, size when folded etc. And of course ease of use.

We have a pair of Evoras....one of the few that publish the correct weights.

Slightly smaller battery than some but more than adequate for most needs.

We have Prorider folding ebikes, 3 years old now and still going strong. Ease of folding is fine, we can get both of them into my little Kia Picanto. When away with the M/H they go on the rear rack, we fold down the handle bars and fold down the peddles
but the rest is left and mounted and fastend using the arms and wheel straps. Weight no battery is about 15kg the battery we always remove and store inside the M/H.

I have an M3 from >AS Bikes< , they exhibit at most of the motorhome shows. I also put it on a on a bike rack like Tammygirl does. I could fold it up and carry it in the van but have so far not done so. I like the rear wheel drive which provides good grip, the gears, the lack of a cross bar and the comfortable saddle and riding position.

I have an Evora as well. Probably the lightest I found and offered advantages over others I looked at.

Only one level of pedal assist which may or may not be a problem

We will be getting a second this year

We have a couple of Pro Rider electric bikes which have worked out quite well for us. Although they are folding we have not done that so far except for the handle bar which is handy to fold down when they are on the rear bike rack of the motorhome. The have three modes of peddle assist and they can be used on throttle only. They seem to cope with most situation pretty well. It would be handy to have more gears or at least higher gears for me, Margaret is perfectly happy.

not specific to folding elecric bikes, but if anyone is looking for a fixed frame electric bike, 50cycles have extended their Black Friday 20% off offer for another 48 hrs, and this can be activated by quoting 'black20' in the checkout process.

Hope you find a suitable one.  We also have the Prorider electric bikes like David’s only silver.  We went along to their place in Birmingham area to try them &  we used them a couple of times when away 2015 but unfortunately the OH is not confident on the
road so they never came out of the garage this year & so now we must sell them.  Such a shame, because I really enjoyed using them.

That is a shame, we love our eBikes, must admit I'm not so keen on going on the roads in this country but it doesn't bother me so much abroad, they seem to be more bike aware. Loved all the cycling in France especially ile de Re.

We have one red and one silver that way we dont get them confusedWink

Seat heights were an easy way for us to know which was which.  Agree Il de Re (went there twice) was brilliant for cycling as was Holland. Still not to worry we can still enjoy a walk outdoors.
