    any particular reason?

do you have a gas oven?

the leccy oven might compromise the power supply (if you have heating on at the same time) and has to be put somewhere on the worktop and then stored securely when not in use.

however, im sure ive seen this sort of thing in Lidl or similar.

    thanks for reply

yes we do have a gas oven but wondered if it would get to tempreture during the winter months. We are on the red gas bottle. I know I would have to look at the watts/amps.

ill look in Lidl thanks again

Depends what you want your oven for but you could consider a Remoska from Lakeland.

The standard size is about 400watts, large about 650watts.

I have used one in the motorhome for a number of years now and I also use one at home.

I'd stick with the gas oven personally. You'll be fine with the propane unless you're planning an Arctic expedition.

Think about it, if the oven doesn't reach operating temperature than neither will your gas heating and on gas the heater will probably normally reach a higher temperature than on lekky. If it fails to reach operating temp you're going to be cold. That won't
happen and all will be well.

Welcome  LSG  !!  Youv'e  had  some  very  good  advice  in  just  a  few  replies
Laughing.  I  only  use  the  oven  ( in  my  panel  van  conversion )  as  a  cupboard  for  the  cereals  snax  &  bread  ,  honest.  But
I  do  use  the  Remoska  --  its  low  amperage  electric  &  keeps  this  old  dumpling  well  fed  believe  me  !

You have just missed the ovens at Lidl, our store had them about 10 days ago, but you might get lucky and find they have not sold them all.  They were £30 as they have a rotisserie function in this model.

I have a gas oven in my caravan and as for coping with temperatures it worked fine when the weather was down to -5C by evening meal cooking and (-14C overnight)

Here's a link to a site which sells Remoskas - we have two, one for home and one for the MH.

Didn't buy them from Lakeland as they wanted nearly twice the price we paid for them buying direct from a supplier in the Czech Republic.  Buy one, get one free!

...just one other point, you have a MH and you may, in the future, take advantage of its isefulness in stopping on route when touring, possibly off grid (some CLs, aires, non-facs sites) where you wont have a hook up....

perhaps have a bit of paractise with the gas oven to reassure yourselves that it can (or cant) do what ypu want it to.

as TW says, has ovens cook perfectly well all year round, ours certainly does....i just wouldnt want to restricted in where i camped just because of the type of oven we had...

    good luck.

Apart from a slow cooker we have always found the gas oven to be more than adequate for cooking +microwave, unless you are in the camp of some we know that is "we have paid for EHU so why use gas"Undecided

Gas oven for us too. Works perfectly in the coldest of winters. Still burns the roast!!! For us too it would be more valuable space taken.

Our gas oven seems to cook everything alright, all year round. We use the red gas bottles too.

In fact, when it's been on, the whole caravan gets really warm and toasty Laughing

Thanks everyone must say I do feel more reassured about the use of gas oven will give it a try. Can I ask JimE about his purchase of  Remoska oven from Czech R I've been on site and it comes with a two pin plug
?would that be a problem  They have updated design and must say some negative reviews on new design ie no viewing window no dome lid and different stand

    thanks

Plugs can easily be changed.   Or you can use an adapter.

No  real  problem  with  the  plug, LSG !  any  competent  "Sparky  Trained"  person  can  fit  the  new  one,  but  with  the  correct  fuse  please  !!

    As  for  the  re-design  of  Remoska,  many  of  us  Old  'Uns  don't  like  change,  even  if  it's  for  the  better  ! {
Just  look  at  our  Laundry  for  starters   SurprisedEmbarassed
}  It  won't  cause  you  any  trouble  !
