Leaking tap
Have just discovered a leak in our bathroom mixer tap. Noticed that the carpet was very damp in the vicinity of the bathroom and traced leak back to the mixer tap in the bathroom. Water is seeping out of the joint that allows the tap to swivel around. Do
I have to buy a new mixer unit or is it possible to strip it down and replace seals? Also, access to the tap behind the vanity unit looks a bit tricky or am I being pesimistic? Any help gratefully received! It's a Bailey Pageant Provence S7. Immediate action
has been to turn pump off, release pressure from system and using on site facilities. Thanks.

Our shower mixer (Caraflo) started to leak profusely, though fortunately, into the shower. So it was changed by the dealer. It seems that Caraflo taps frequently fail. The dealer said that an internal repair can't be done, so you'll need to replace it. Ours
had two braided tails which connected via push fit connectors in a convenient position low under the vanity unit. So a 24 hour order of a replacement makes changing it fairly easy except for accessing the nut which holds the tap in place behind the sink/ shower.
A mobile repair man will do that easily if you don't have the right spanner.0 -
Hi Lewis. We had our tap in our bailey Valencia Mk1 changed, or rather I changed the tap. The original was the most ridiculous tap you ever saw. It didn't swivel and stuck out straight across the sink which was so inconvenient it wasn't true. I got a new swivel tap from C.A.K. Tanks at the show and its brilliant. I failed to tighten one of the tails completely and had a slow leak unknown to me until I went in the washroom one day and thought I was paddling! Carpet was soaked. Very quickly put right though, I found the culprit, swung on the screwdriver and all was fine and has been fine since. C.A.K. Tanks are a very good firm and they have a selection of quality taps to choose from. Hope you get it sorted. Thats the problem with these pressurised systems- if you do get a leak, potentially they can keep going until the empty the 40 or 50 litres into your van!
