Kampa awning problems
Kampa rallyair400. less than six months intermittent use, now faded from black to light brown.
Very disappointed kampa is not interested saying some fading will occur in sun. Will not be buying kampa again.

Trevor. We have purchased a Kampa awning, not the same model as yours and have only used it once but if ours fades then I too will not be happy. We were impressed with the awning when we used it but not at all impressed with the fact that we have had to buy storm strops seperately. On spending 600 quid on the awning, you would have thought that Kampa could include the said storm straps in the 600 pounds. Had I known that we would have to buy the straps seperately, I would have had another think about buying it in the first place. I complained to the counter staff re my dissatisfaction but he did not agree with me and his reply gave me the impression that buying the straps were justified.

We had major trouble with a Kampa Ace Air 400 from new, it was deflating, had major condensation problems and had twisted poles. Eventually we demanded a replacment which, after quoting the sale of goods act, we recieved. The replacement, so far, has been
fine, but very disappointed in an item that cost close to £900 and ruined a holiday.0 -
Such a shame you have to quote consumer legislation at some dealers.
Can they not see its poor business behaviour and after you have made them behave you will never spend money with them ever again.
In these days of instant social media such businesses are plain stupid

At 3 years old our (Kampa 260 pro) faded to 2 shades of grey and the remainder of the black started fading also we had to replace all the hiviz webbing (pegging / guy line ) points due to rot from uv rays ( awning not used abroad )

A six month old Air Pro 390 refused to inflate properly at the start of a two week holiday in Devon, last year. A phone call to our dealer couldn't resolve
the problem so they got the North of England Kampa Rep to ring me back straightaway. Over the phone, he couldn't suggest anything that I hadn't already tried, but was most apologetic and sympathetic to our plight and just wanted to rescue our holiday for
us. Between the dealer and Kampa, they arranged to send a replacement out to our campsite to us, by courier and at no cost to me and it arrived within less than 24 hours. It has performed faultlessly for the last 17 months. Yes, there has been a bit of
fading during that period - but nothing much and as for condensation, it's inevitable with modern impermeable fabrics - they're all the same, whatever the make. Leaving the top of the doors open slightly greatly improves matters and a roof lining is also
a good investment for deflecting any water away from the centre of the awning.0 -
not had our Air Pro long enough to comment on fading, but it stayed up for a fortnight in Wales last month and we love it. I don't think any awnings are supplied with storm straps are they?

But it's swings and roundabouts. Impermeable tent fabrics can't breathe, so condensation is an issue. On the other hand, we had a Bradcot years ago - which was a breathable fabric and when it rained heavily, you got a fine mist of water being forced through

Interested in the posts regarding the Kampa awnings. I bought a 330 Air Pro last summer, it's been used 3 times and I am in the Dales at the moment with the awning erected. No issues with erecting or packing it away after use, yes its heavy but not as heavy
as the. brad it Modus which it replaced.the real issue is the amount of water that pours from the roof overnight, this is the second time it's been used in rain but the temperatures are much lower, we bought this with a view to it being slept in occasionally, no way could we risk it. When I get
home I will be calling my supplier for solutions. Not sure I am too optimistic, the caravan industry should be ashamed for its lousy customer service.0 -
We have a kampa 360 air pro, at first we did have condensation dripping from the roof, as you say lighthouse not ideal if someone might be sleeping in it. We have cured the problem by leaving the airvents at the top undone, now it is fine, we are very happy
with it, best awning we have had and so easy.0
