Air pump

  Due to health problems when last inflating my awning, I've decided to buy an electric pump. This may seem a silly question, but rather than manouevering the car close to the awning, which may be problematical, could I use the leisure battery for this job?
As we only use EHU sites,the battery would get recharged.

    I would think it will be fine do you have a 12v socket in your van ? or are you going direct to the battery

    You might have an issue with the current draw of a 12v pump via a 12v socket in the van - depending how powerful it is. It it helps you, I bought a 240v pump - for exactly the purpose you describe from Winfields Outdoors - reduced to £4.99 - just plugs into
    the outside socket on the van. Admittedly, it is a low pressure / high volume pump but this is ideal because it means there is no danger of over inflating the awning.  Having got the awning almost fully inflated, I then finish off with three or four pumps
    of the hand-pump to get the correct pressure.
