My blue "all services pitch" water pipe has not been used for a while and I would like to sterilise it somehow. It is a food grade pipe and is only fully round when water is inside it so can someone please recommend how to sterilise it?

I am sure it will be possible to put some steriliser in and then push it through gently with some water from a tap and then let it remain for a while before flushing. However I have never sterilised anything in the caravan in nearly 30 years so personally I would not bother. What I do before each trip is to nearly fill an aqua roll then slosh it about, empty it then refill and run a filling through the caravan cold taps. If I had a flat pipe I would just put a few gallons of water through under full pressure. It largely comes down to how you feel, I prefer rinsing to adding chemicals.

I'm with Tirril. How often do you sterilise your pipes and roof tank at home?

I do keep some Puriclean in the caravan, but very rarely get around to using it - and I'm still alive and kicking - just! Laughing

I did post a reply earlier but it failed to appear for some reason. Thanks to all who replied, I am grateful for your advice. Cheers. Cool
