reccomendation is for caravan tyres to be changed at five years old, sometimes with very little use, also advise says if you store caravan with wheels off the ground and shield from direct sunlight they will last longer, anybody used tyres for longer and any
problems associated with doing so

When we were younger we were naive and fairly skint. We had one cvan with tyres that had been on for years. They gave us no trouble at all until one day they both blew within half a mile of each other on the M5. That's the lesson!

By 2002 we had had the tyres on our Caochman 10 years when we sold it. Never had any trouble which is probably as well as we had no spare. Not sure if the design of tyres has changed as in 2013 we found the 6 year old tyres on our caravan had deteriorated
badly. Five years looks sound advice but others may not agree.

I inspect mine before every tour. 4 times a year plus the service. At 7 years I change regardless

The price of two new tyres after 5/7 years has to be considered alongside the possible cost the damage  a blown tyre can do to a  caravan in certain circumstances!

Totally agree. We have a hobby the same as any other. Any hobby costs money over and above the weekly budget. Look at £200 for a pair of tyres over 5 years, it's about .75p a week

As I posted on another thread recently - I put a new pair of tyres on our Bailey (185R14C) a few weeks ago at a cost of £112 including valves and balancing. Over 6 years that cost 36p a week - I can live with that for a bit of safety.
