I think music systems on caravans are never going to be much use as if you have them at anything other than quiet you will risk annoying others on site.  I think they were built with this in mind so an upgrade would be tricky but if I wanted to do one I
would fit a good car stereo system.

The problem is that the speakers are generally mounted into something that is not suitable for that application. i.e. flexible plastic panels so no matter what you replace them with they will still vibrate/resonate and sound C**P. I invested in a bluetooth
audio sender and just use headphones. way better sound and i can also use them on a night watching tv without disturbing OH. BTW i have a swift challenger so audio set up will be very similar.

That would be my solution if I was alone, but the Boss would not be impressed :)

If vibration is the problem, even mediocre speakers could be improved by glueing a piece of chipboard or MDF behind the panel and screwing the speakers through into it.

We ignore the inbuilt speakers and use a Bluetooth speaker and Iphone. It wasn't expensive and we can move it around the van. We also use the Ipod dock on our Bush TV (whose sound is also fine).

In the caravan we never have music blasting out as loud as I sometimes do at home.

We use a Bose portable blue tooth speaker system. Brilliant and not expensive - cost us £100 and we can take it anywhere.

    Thanks Guys

I am looking into the Bluetooth speaker thing and to also change the head unit to one with Bluetooth Streaming for the Sites where wifi/3g is a thing of the future!! Can then at least use the onboard unit for Radio/CD/iPod etc.....And yes, blast it out LOUD!
