Pneumatic tyre jockey wheel.
I'm not impressed with the solid tyre jockey wheel on my Lunar Cosmos as it makes using the mover on gravel difficult tending to dig in. Did not have this problem on previous Bailey van . How easy is it to replace the solid tired wheel with a pneumatic tyre. - will such a wheel fit or will it be necessary to replace the whole jockey wheel assembly?

we had the same problem and found that a pneumatic id wider with a larger diameter so it was necessary to buy the whole assembly.
I would recommend however checking what weight the tyre can take regarding load as most are cheap plastic with tyres not really upto the job as jockey wheels (we bought an Alko wheel).
We carry a 'cheapie' in case of a puncture but after 5 years never had to use it.
There are wider solid wheels with solid rubber that seem to better than the typical skinny solid fitted as standard.

Hi Kieth. yes had te same problem, my wheel broke up and yes Trini is right pneumatic tyres are wider and will not fit. There is another alternitive, semi pneumatic, this gives the advantages of a pneumatic wheel without the problem of a puncture but
it always looks as if it is flat and about to come off the rim. I have found it very good on soft ground. Make sure you get a jockey wheel sutable for a caravan as some are only strong enough in the spindle for small trailers0 -
subject to your nose weight constaints - I have fitted this for the very same reason (moving the van on gravel drive) and it seems to work very well, with the advantage of a solid wheel and nose weight guage as well!
I its heavy and is expensive (but I can keep it as lomng as I have an alko chassis van).

Like all the above, we had this problem and bought an alko pneumatic jocky wheel assembly which fits into the existing clamp (it's only the forks which are enlarged for the bigger tyre). It works perfectly but being larger diameter we have found that it
doesn't stow away as compact as the smaller solid wheel and has grounded once or twice when going over particularly nasty speed bumps. We tow with a Honda CRV which seems to tow quite 'nose down' so maybe it wouldn't be a problem for you though.0
