The question was  about the carri chef I or 2 surely someone must have had a carri chef 1 and replaced it with a carri chef 2 are they any better? or should I stick with the original thanks Rog

We have changed from the one to the two. I like the bigger cooking area.  Better burner for controlling the heat. The general cooking pan/tray is a better design with a higher edge to it. We use the cadac so much we spoiled ourselves with this.

Write your comments here...glad to help Roger. Also the better burner does not blow out so easily if it's a tad breezy. Should be some good prices at the show.

We are still with the Cadac 1.  I have seen the Cadac 2 in the shops but was unsure.  I replaced the 'supplied' BBQ plate with a traditional chrome BBQ grill, which we like.  I was unsure if this would work on a Cadac 2.

Is the Cadac 2 much lighter?

I stand to be corrected, but having looked at the carri-chef 2, it doesn't seem to have a 'true BBQ' option with a grill at all, but just hot plate/skottel/paella pan or a roaster options?  I like my BBQ grill, so splashed out for a new fat pan and reversible
griddle plate for my cari-chef 1 instead of replacing it.

I have a Cadac safari 2 and found it to be the best BBQ I have ever used. Just pop in burgers or steak and put on the lid  and let it get on with it. The BBQ does not flare up like previous ones and you get a lovely striped chargrill pattern.

My safari chef has both the BBQ grill and the reversible griddle.
