Caravan towing lights not working..?

new Swift van in April With LED lights. New after market tow bar fitted to Skoda Octavia. Used about 5 or 6 times together with no issues. We took van back to dealer last Saturday for warranty work (minor snags). Went to collect this morning and no driving
lights would work on the van. They tested the van on their test rig, all ok. We took the car back to the company who fitted the tow bar. They tested the socket, all ok. Went back to caravan but still no lights. Tried two other (non-LED) vans and still nothing,
so must be a car fault right..?

I'm a bit stumped...any suggestions..?

Try spraying the plugs, both on caravan and car with WD 40. It may something as simple as a small amount of moisture or dirt preventing a good connection being made. I could be wrong but it's worth a try.

Did it need a Sargent VLM module? If so, has it failed, contact them?

Did you need a Sargent VLM module?

    Has that failed somehow?

    Contact them?

A bit suspicious that all of this has happened after the warranty work?

DougS...my understanding is that the VLM module may be needed with LED lights, and this module would sit inside the van where the wiring loom from the plug enters at the front. The work on the van didn't involve any electrics. The dealer had a box with different
modules in that we tried with no success. We tried to connect to two other vans that had normal tungsten lamps with the same result...nothing.

Since posting I've been out and bought an adaptor to connect by cycle rack lighting board to the 13 pin socket. Connected it up and works fine.

I have noticed though that the little plastic lugs inside the 13 pin socket on the car are now damaged. It's only been used a handful of times, is this normal..?

I'm wondering if the van plugs weren't inserting quite far enough. They certainly connected enough for the ATC to activate, but maybe not the lights...could this be the case do you think..?
