Trauma Water Pump - Awkward to Connect
We have a trauma water pump and find it difficult to connect and disconnet onto the socket in the side of the caravan. Connecting seems to involve an awful lot of wiggling it around and a bit of effort. This is our first caravan and I wondered if this
was normal or could there be a problem with the parts which connect it.

Is the pump the trigger type?
if it is have a look at the black o rings that form the seal.
I have had a similar problem in the past. The rings perish and can cause a problem or someone may have fitted non Truma rings.
Sometimes a little washing up liquid on the rings as a lubricant works.
Hope this helps

All water inlets of this type have "O" rings. As long as they are not perished....either cooking oil or silicon as used to ease the fitting of an awning will make life a lot easier and also extend the life of the o rings.i have noticed that Truma charge
a rediculouse amountttttt of money for replacement o rings..pack of 4 for trigger type £7 odd and ttttwo of those are a size you will never use!!!!0 -
. . . and does not leave soapy bubbles in the water supply!

Thaks folks. I shall check the rings and try the washing up liquid idea. I think it is the trigger type...it has a blue switch type thing that you have to press to get it on an off.
It is the trigger type and you might as well dump it as most of the ones of the trigger type fall apart after use. We had 3 go faulty on us within a space of about 3 years and all were replaced under warranty.
We bought the Whale equivalent and have never looked back as it is far better than the Truma one.
