Disappointing say nav be warned!
I recently bought the Garmin Camper 660 and hoping I wouldn't have to do so much Navigating myself. In France it was fine and I checked lots of ACSI and CC sites there but not so good on Wales. Not only did it take me the wrong way to St Davids it pronounced
the entrance to Lethyr Meadows CC site to be on my left which was clearly a commercial mobile site. Luckily only a little further was the site BUT the entrance is angled for a left approach not for a right turn in. No real harm done but I was lucky not to
meet traffic coming towards me. So disappointingly I will carry on using the CC book. I had hoped the extra money paid would like help my Solo Touring. Please be warned and stick to the really official directions.

Oh Pippah how disappointing. Isn't that the one The Club promote? If it is I suggest you advise them and see what their response is.
As we all know satnav's shouldn't be followed slavishly but without a navigator they should be a godsend. We have a TomTom and been told our destination was on the opposite side of the road. Ho hum

It was advertised in the magazine but not the most expensive thank goodness as I understand all can mislead! It seems as long as there is room on the road for the caravan that's OK never mind oncoming traffic! I was a bit non plussed when very near the
Plymouth Sound site it questioned the suitability of the road! But since it was the only road to the site I perse ered! I just wanted to tell others not to be too trusting although I know some blindly follow ordinary Sat Nav s!0 -

Entering a postcode should be followed by fine tuning of the on sceen settings to locate the
destination accurately.0 -
No Vulcan I selected the CC site by name as listed in the options so I expected to be taken to the right place! Obviously my expectations were too high! i am well aware of post code variations. The actual site was shown on the wrong side of the road. So I am not overly impressed as it could have led to a sticky situation which is why this is being posted as a warning to others.

I bought the standard Garmin which was about £100 cheaper and loaded sites from Archies web sites. So far in UK and France they have taken me right to the site entrance but I always check directions provided by the site.

Hi Pippah. So you made it to Wales then? Lucky you! Yes, the Sat Nav would be annoying but I have learnt that the instruction in the book for the last leg of the journey is vital and extremely accurate due to the fact that it was written by the site owner
and who better to know the wrinkles and foibles of there site. Glad you made it ok and hope you are having a great time0 -
Thanks Merve I have been very lucky with the weather too. Starting the journey home tomorrow I can't remember ever being away for so long but it wasn't a pleasure trip until the last bit. Not sure I want to go home really but need to catch up with various
appointments and a battle with npower who want £790 for the last quarter! (Although their prediction for the next 12 months is about £720!!) Idiots I will definitely be changing supplier! Any recommendations?0 -
We have Scottish power sweetheart. They seem to be quite good although all of them have their problems. We were being charged £84 a month for gas and electric and I hadn't heard from them for some time so I decided to ring them, particularly as I had changed
all my lighting to LED and wanted to know if it was making a difference and how much of my money they were holding on to. It turned out that we were £452 in credit! I was reimbursed £400 immediately deciding to keep the £52 as credit. The consumption had gone
right down and when we emailed the meter readings that £84 came down to £44!!! Not a bad phone call that??? Have a safe journey and drive safe!0 -

Like Pippah, we are with NPower, and also have real problems with them. We use much less electricity and gas than they 'estimate' and keep ringing in with correct readings. Each bill we get, always estimated despite our phoned in readings, and always hugely more than we have used, suggests we need to up our payments despite us being well in credit. Each time my OH rings he gets them to agree to keep our payments at the same level, and then the next time a bill comes up it goes again. It's a constant battle!

Ovo are excellent , you can manage readings online , change your standing order amount , see your usage gas & electric , see your daily use & cost , see your credit amount & take a payment out & even top up if you have to.
best thing we ever did was change supplier
