Rapid Autoglym Aqua Wax, a bit expensive but very easy to apply.
1. Wash the vehicle with shampoo and leave wet.
2. Shake well and apply Rapid Aqua Wax sparingly to all exterior surfaces, excluding the windscreen. 2-3 sprays per panel are sufficient.
3. Use a clean microfibre cloth (supplied) to spread Rapid Aqua Wax until there is an even coating over all surfaces.
4. Buff to a shine with a second clean, dry microfibre cloth (supplied).

About 3yrs ago I found Harley wax (Google it ) it's only available by one supplier only It's based on carnuba wax which does not create any powder residu and does not go white on rubber parts It's the best polish I have used in 45yrs non abrasive and the
shine is incredible oh and I do not have any connection to the supplier0 -
Is their a product that I can put on when the car is dry ?
Yes, Showroom Shine, as used and endorsed by Mercedes..

You'll find Mer polish very good. Used it for years.

I've used Mer for years on various yachts, cars and caravans.

I'm not sure you should ever use a polish without washing the car as any grit or particles will scratch if not washed off first
Suposedly dry wash. However, I prefer to wash the car first to avoid the risk of scratches. Its big advantage, apart from how shiny it makes things, is it can be used in sunny conditions without any problems. Many other products go steaky when you try and do the same.

I also recommend Auto Glym Aqua wax, buy it in bulk (5 litre Speed Wax) from their stand at the NEC show works out a lot cheaper.
If it's a new car, why not use Auto Glym Gloss protectant. It seals the paint finish and helps keep the paintwork clean. I always apply to any new vehicle I buy. Very easy to apply, just cover the panels evenly (no need to rub in) leave to dry for 30 mins and then polish off with a clean cloth. Water beads on the protected surface for months after application.
I suppose I sound like an Auto Glym salesman but can assure you I have no connection with them. Just like all their products.

There are plenty of wax products that can be applied to a dry surface however as someone else pointed out you would not want to apply it to a vehicle that had not been washed first. that is the reason I recomended Autoglym Aqua Wax becase it saves having
to dry the car first and then start applying wax and buffing.0 -

Polish *is* abrasive. You polish a car to restore the "flat" to the paint finish - i.e. to remove swirls, light scraches and oxidized paint.
Then you wax it to create a deep shine and to give protection to the paint.
If the paint is in good condition, there's no need to polish.

Write your comments here...AUTOGLYM HIGH DEFINITION WAX! The absolute best available. If you wait till the show you can get it for £35. (Normally £45 from Halfords) Now I know most would baulk at that but they haven't tried it! It lasts for ever and the
finish and protection is incredible. I have a 20yr old tow car but it looks incredible- and so does the caravan!!0 -
I would not use MER as it is a polish and as such is abrasive. I used MER on my previous van and found that the gel coat of grp front and back panel got worn away with MER. I now have a van with grp sides and will only use a wax such as Maguires, not cheap but so much better

We use 'Greased Lightning' on both the car and the caravan, and neither show any evidence of damage from the polish or from grit and dust, after two years or more of using it. My OH gives the car a polish before we set off and the caravan just before we
put the caravan back into storage.French campsites often ban the washing of cars and caravans so this solves the problem for us.

Another fan of Greased Lightning here. Used it on Mhome and car for years with no adverse effect.
I suppose it's all a matter of confidence and choice ....

I swear by Auto Glym products - their Super Resin Polish is used after you have thoroughly washed and dried the car. Apply the polish once or twice a year. Easy to apply and buff up. Hallfords generally do 2 for 3 deals. Once polished I keep the car shiny
using the Aqua wax.0
