Deflation

Air awnings, when mine is collapsed by opening the three valves, it deflates as expected. When I try to roll it as per instructions to get all the air out, there's always a bit of trapped wind (oo err, missus) making packing difficult. It's a Kampa by the way. I wondered if anyone connects the hand pump to suction to remove all air, is it possible? Would it work?

Hi, our Kampa air awning pump has two connections one blows the other sucks, so yes you can use it to get more air out. We have found if you roll - fold up from the other end to the valves most of the air gets out. We have purchased an electric pump, cheating
I know and v noisy but my BP was not improved when using the hand pump! That can also suck as I found out when it took ages to try and inflate the awning using the wrong connection!

We have an Air Pro 390, and as you say, rolling it up doesn't seem to get all the air out.  However, once something like a reasonable size to fit in the bag, I usually just sit / lie on it for a couple of minutes and that has the desired effect of getting
rid of the last bit of air.  Have never bothered using the pump.

That's what I do, although I've given up trying to get the pump and other bits in the bag.

I would imagine it's the same as deflating an inflatable dinghy. It's always difficult getting all the air out without a lot of patience or a vacuum system.
