Vacuum cleaners
Any recommendations please for lightweight inexpensive vacuum cleaner to keep in motorhome.

Try QD for a cheap, small mains vacuum cleaner or Halfords for a 12v alternative. We use both, though neither compares with our domestic Dyson. we have, at home, for spilt cat litter, a Makita 18v LiOn portable vacuumed cleaner, which is a bit better. Of
course, if your savings will stand a luxury purchase, you could try a Dyson rechargeable machine. Or, think of alternatives such as having your caravan carpets bound at the edges, which is cheaper than buying a Dyson, and take them outside for a stiff brushing.
Internal debris left behind won't be hard to remove. Our van came with removable carpets, so we've often brushed them clean, or taken them into the house for a deeper Vac.0 -
I use the Dyson V6 animal? - anyway the more powerful one of the two that they make. Its superb! But sadly not cheap!

The OP said "inexpensive" the V6 costs £260... Which might acceptable if it's shared with home use too.

Agreed! But I paid only £170, there are deals available. Shared home & caravan use is the best way, - You can't be in two places at once! Mine is the short hand held one not the long one. If there is a cheaper one available - that is as good, then I would
buy that. But what is the point of buying a cheaper one if it dosent do the job?TF

Thanks for comments. We would prefer to have a lightweight that we can leave in the motorhome. There was a stall selling one at the Peterborough Motorhome show which quite a few folks bought and have been wondering whether they came up to scratch.

We've tried a 12v car vac and had the delight of using some inferior ones hired places and never been impressed. We have bound carpets that we take outside and use a stiff brush on, soft brushing the 'lino' left after carpets removed; as jennyc says, take
them home for a good vac occasionally. I rate my Dyson but couldn't justify a lightweight one just for our motorhome. Think if the calories burned and the pent up anger you can shift with a decent carpet beating . Most therapeutic0
