We are new caravanners, and awning virgins !  Just attempted to put up our Coniston Porch awning, but got stuck at the second hurdle.  Having slotted the awning into the channel, as directed, we attempted to then fit the bracket pads according to the instructions.
No obvious "channel" to slide them through....any helpful suggestions ?!

Put Coniston porch awning in Google to bring up a you tube  clip and full instructions for the awning.

Yes, I tried exactly that, but all I could find was someone selling a Coniston, and it didn't show the erection of it.  The instruction "manual" is  one-page +  diagram.  Our problem is how to attach the Bracket pads.  They are not the screw-on type shown
in one video, and the instructions say "slide into position on the cord which runs adjacent to that in the caravan channel."  There doesn't seem to be a suitable place.  Can anyone help, or link us to a visual for it ?

Theres two channels on the large Coniston Awning, The one nearest the outside run down the awning rail on the van. The other takes the pads that also take the hook on the roof poles, first slide the pads one to  either side of the roughly finished awning
leaving one in the centre to take the centre roof pole. hope this helps. If you go to N R awning web site it shows an erection drawing to print off.

Thanks for that.  We've got the erection drawing, but it didn't explain the pads.  We have the smaller of the Coniston Awnings, and I have a feeling there is only one channel, and we only have 2 pads, one for each side. However, we will have another look
    tomorrow.

We had a Coniston porch awning several years ago and, if my memory hasn't failed me, I think the two poles which support the roof had rubber suckers on the 'van end' which obviously go on the van side and not in a channel.

Google Isabella awning erection as they use what sounds like a similar arrangement for the roof pads.

These slot/slide onto a smaller diameter cord near to the awning cord that is slid into the caravan rail.

Hope this helps. Most awning instructions are less than helpful.
