Hitch Locks and Wheel Clamps

On trying to get insurance for my first ever caravan, it seems these 2 items are basically mandatory.

I'm buying an adria adiva 532 lt and I'm trying to work out if I'm looking at the right things.  Below are 2 links which I hope I've managed to post correctly:

Could someone let me know if these are the right type of products for what I need.

To be entirely honest, I'm not too worried about the theft prevention aspect - It's stored in a Cassao site most of the time, and the rest it will be on CC or CCC sites with very few exceptions.

What I'm really after is:

1 - Easy to fit & remove

2 - Light weight

3 - Insurance-approved

4 - Cheap!

Many thanks in advance.

The hitchlock in the link doesn't look suitable for a stabilising hitch (ALKO or Westfalia).  You need to establish what your van is fitted with and make sure the hitchlock is compatible.

Wheelclamps like the one in your link can be awkward to fit on a caravan wheel, depending on the clearance around the wheelarch (if you have a mover, they make it worse).

I use a Milenco 'Alko' hitchlock (65 quid'ish) and the below type of cheap wheelclamp, which is a doddle to fit. (My van is stored in a very secure building, so I only fit it to comply with insurance).

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/Maypole-9075-Wheel-Clamp/dp/B00D902YKC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1461153307&sr=8-2&keywords=wheel+clamp

In terms of insurance, mine don't insist on 'sold secure' etc products, but it will be worth checking with your insurer and you'll be paying a lot more for them than the above if they do.  I had the wheelclamp from previoulsy owning a trailer tent, if it
needed replacing i'd probably go for the Milenco equivalent 'C' clamp, which is a bit more secure.

My understanding is that the Adria Adiva 523 LT doesn't have a stabiliser.

But I'm finding that hard to be sure, as I don't collect it until tomorrow, plus its hard to find details online, plus I don't know what a stabiliser would look like.  I'm a completely caravan newbie!

This looks a lot lighter for a clamp.  I think it would work well on mine too

Edit:  I've made your link active Peter.  Regards DSB (David)

Looks like Teeside Caravans (not far from us) has a decent range.  I might just drive down and ask them for some help as their prices seem reasonable.

What part of that 2 handle-assembly is the "stabiliser"?  I thought that was just an Alko Hitch?

I do have one that looks just like that.

By the way, I managed to pick up a Milenko hitch lock for £20 and I've bought a Milenko Compact C wheel clamp - its so light and easy to put on.  Perfect.

I do have one that looks just like that.

The red handle. Levering it down clamps the towball.

    You've got a stabiliser then

     ....

    Thanks :)

As you lower the hitch onto the towball, the small black handle will click as it latches onto the ball ..... it's at this stage they suggest that you try to left the front of the caravan again on the jockey wheel to make sure the car lifts slightly too ie
is it attached properly? ..... and then you lever the red lever down to engage the stabiliser.
