T-Cut or not T-Cut?

I have a 1997 Elddis Vogue Whirlwind and I gave it a thorough clean today to get rid of last winter's muck and filth (I have to park beneath a tree).  The paintwork is looking particularly dull.  Is it prudent to use T-Cut in order to bring the paintwork
back to life, or would that be far too abrasive?  Any thoughts and advice would be gratefully received, as ever.

Caravan paint is thinner than car paint so I personally wouldn't use t-cut.

For my caravan and now motorhome I use a good polish and finishing wax. Takes time but results are worth the effort.

I would agree with thebroons there as the paint is micro thin and if you t-cut you will be left with bare metal in no time!

However i do suggest that you also try using a Proprietary caravan cleaner like fenwicks or silky (if you have not already done so) as you will be surprised how much extra
Dull paint they remove. Then as suggested a good polish with a none abrasive polish or wax.

Hi Everyone,  having been a member of TIPEC (Porsche club) we found that Meguires offered a fantasic range of products to restore and protect the paint finishes.

T-Cut is quite a harsh product and Meguires sell various cutting compounds which will lightly lift some marks without cutting too deeply into the paint.  I would also highly recommend polishing with their 'tech wax'.  I used this on my porsche which is red
and had the usual sun fade the happens with red paint over time.  The tech wax somehow has feed the paint, bringing it back to an intense red with depth and a high shine.

We carefully cleaned and polished our Series 5 Louisiana the end of 2014 and the run marks just wash off with a wash and she still has a deep shine even now.

You can pick some of the products up in Halfords, but do keep an eye out for their 3 for 2 offers or check out their website and talk to them directly about your needs - we did a factory visit and they are so helpful.

    Hope this helps

Our van was 'paint sealed' from new but it's possible to get this done later. We find we have fewer black streaks and it's easier to keep clean, often just with warm water and a damp cloth

Many thanks for your help.  It seems that T-Cutting is a no-no.  I'm going to a dealership in the next couple of days so will ask Mutley to pick up some quality wash and polish and see if that improves matters.  Many thanks once again.
