Hi 

Thinking of buying one of these 

any thoughts our other recomendations before i take the plunge

just want to watch telly etc

    Don't buy it , go the solar panel routeHappy

    IMO   ---- Best to go for a 100w solar panel. Even the best Generators can cause polution and be antisocial, could make you a bit unpopular with your neighbours on any camping site.

    As already said a solar panel and good leisure batterIes. 

    We had a 100w solar panel and two 90mah leisure batteries in our previous m/h and had no issues watching tv, running heating etc.....

    Picking on one point, "remote start".

    I would not ever use this feature if directly connected to the van for reasons of inviting voltage surges into my very expensive inbuilt charge controller.

    I always start and stop my Honda off EHU.

    If you go karting in the winter then the generator route is the way to go.

    Thatb genny weighs is at 32kg so quite a hefty weight to lug around.  You may be better off with a Hyundai 1000w as that only weighs 14kg and more than enough power for the caravan.
