Heh fellow Caravanners, can we pick your brains - one of you bright sparks must know.  We have got a van that came with whistles and bells aplenty, much of which we didnt want and sold on, but one of the things we have is a bag of steel awning poles.  We
have lightweight ones which we plan on keeping.  So we have a bag of steel poles (complete set with rubber pads). and a couple of spares.  We would like to sell them, but we have been asked what size awning will they fit?  Well we assume they fit our van (17')
and we guess there's some leeway in sizing, but does anyone KNOW how universal these sizes are - so we can sell them safely, knowing what sizes they are suitable for?

Thanks Chums x

You can errect the frame and measure the Max and Min size. Or sell as Sold as Seen. But it would be a good idea to check if it was complete and it's condition.

Our 'van (secondhand from a major dealer) came with an awning and full set of the correct alluminium poles.  It also came with a big bag of steel poles which in no way relate to the awning.  Maybe the dealer thought it an easy way to get rid of them
    Laughing.

I use a couple for an aerial mast, and a few more might be useful in the garden.  With the collapse in steel prices, even the scrap value will be negligible.

Okey dokey, thanks for your replies. yes, we will measure them and then sell with that in the advert.  We know there's a full set as we used them on our awning  originally before buying a set of lightweights - there's a few spares - verandah pole etc.
