Tool for removal of rooflight
Can anyone help..I am trying to source the correct tool for removal of the screws (4 screws in total) which hold the mechanisms from the caravan rooflight...I need to clean dirt which has got trapped in between the double skin of perspex in the two rooflights
on my 2012 Swift Challenger Sport.

No special tool required, a pozi drive / philips screwdriver is all that is needed

No need to separate the 2 layers just swish around in bath of warm soapy water

Although many do use phillips head screws some later models do use Torx headed animals. Screwdrivers or screwdriver bits for these can be bought at most hardware stored or DIY suprmarkets. I believe that the size of the Torx driver or bit required for screws
used in rooflights would be T10.0 -
Torx T10 tool used and got the 4 screws out from the two handles and removed whole roof light..Swished complete unit in warm soapy water and rinsed. Not really a success as in between the two layers of plastic is still grubby. Next time I'll remove the screws
to separate the two skins of plastic and clean both surfaces properly.0 -

Write your comments here...Dont forget to take the rooflight with you in the bath though.

Roof lights (2) removed with T10 Torx screwdriver...As suggested in a site thread tried swishing them about in soapy water to removed trapped dirt from in between the two layers if plastic...Didn't succeed...Going to try again but this time will remove the
screws which hold the two layers together as it's the only way to expose the full surfaces for cleaning .0 -
There is an article in Aprils Motorhome Monthly Magazine describing exactly this maintenance process............!!
I was planning to have a go at mine if it ever stops raining.....!0
