How deep are your pockets? What is your budget? Does your TV already have a built in satellite receiver? Do you want "Sky" TV? >This site< might be useful to you.

If you're looking for something cheap and cheerful you could try this from
    Maplin
    - I got one almost identical from
    Aldi
last week - don't know if they still have them.

Of course you could go for
    this
if you want something a bit more swish

Freestanding dishes are the cheapest way forward. Size will depend on where you intend using it. The suitcase ones are OK for the UK but if you are venturing into Europe then a larger dish will be required, how large will depend on how far south you go.
For years we used free standing dishes but once we got the motorhome we decided to bite the bullet and invest in a roof mounted system which we have used right down to the South of France.
