time for the OH to upgrade her Raleigh/Panasonic drive electric bike, so we had a look at the latest Kalkhoff offerings, with even the std 250w versions now offering upto 80nm of torque (wifes fiat 500 has 100!)....

i was impressed with the Integrale 10 spd, however the 350w model caught my eye...

what im interested in is, what is the process for getting one of these registered and insured and are these costs significant?

the extra for the bike is not an issue, just curious as to the additional costs.

thanks.

the thing with ebikes (as you know) is that they just start to get interesting when the power fades away.....

cycling an ebike at 14.5 mph is easy, at 16 mph it can be blooming hard work.....no power, heavier bike and battery, etc..

the 350w bikes allow that assistance to be maintained upto 25 mph which, i feel, is far safer in town/city traffic....

i dont really want another 'fossil powered' vehicle (even heavier, wife wont ride it....) with two pedelecs we are independent of each otherWink

ill do a bit of checking and see 'if the cake is worth the candle' (AMOBUTS)
