Bedding
wondered how everyone manaves re bedding 3 of us in the caravan 2 in a fixed bed with duvet and 1 in sleeping bag . We will be away this year for a 6 week trip shouled I wash the duvet cover at laundrette put back on does everyone take spares . My OH is very obsessive about weight so I am under pressure to be a lightweight packer . Then what about the sleeping bag ? Last year we took multiple bags and had DS a clean one weekly but again bulky and all adds up weight wise . Has anyone used sleeping bag liners or should I use a single duvet and covers then they could go the laundrette too. What do everyone else do ? Please solve my dilemma

Sleeping bag liners seem to be the only realistic answer for the single sleeper. Additional bags would be too bulky although weight should not be that big an issue for me.
For the duvet covers I would tend to carry one spare as on the days you change there is no need to rush getting them washed and dried but can be cleaned at your leisure on a day that suits you.

we had very lightweight but very warm bags (quite expensive left over from our backpacking days and we would only wash them after a few weeks, usually three times a year?

I would go for the single duvet in place of a sleeping bag, they are restrictive enough as it is, without the addition of a liner. We take a second set of bedding, although there are only two of us. It is not that much extra weight and as Wildwood says it
gives you more flexibility.0 -
I'm not a fan of sleeping bags and agree a single duvet is much better. We take a spare set of linen for our beds, you never know, you may spill a drink on a bed or even forget to close a skylight when it rains. I've seen that happen before.

I did that with a skylight - having lunch in a pub 2 miles up the road - lovely sunny day - got back to the van and it was teeming with rain! luckily I was parked up at friends and they dried out the bedding for me! I carry a sleeping bag for such emergencies now!

Have you considered a >Duvalay< Just as easy to store as a duvet and more comfortable than a sleeping bag. Spare covers are all one piece. The downside is perhaps it won't save you on weight and its
a bit of a struggle to change the covers but they are very comfortable and convenient.peedee
