I don't find that I need to extend the handle to engage my manual Powrtouch. Perhaps some of you lot either need to eat more weetabix or apply some grease to the moving parts. Wink

I think the problem with extending the bar is that you have to be careful not to apply to much force. Through lack of lubrication, if something stuck, it would be easy to cause some damage by yanking on a 2 foot handle.

Then why do Powrtouch provide a handle with an extension?

Probably because it makes it easier, particularly for ladies. However, it also makes it easier to damage something if it sticks. Personally I would say for the average fit male, they should be able to put enough force on a non extended bar. If it requires
anything more something is probably sticking.

I guess many of the 70 + age range like me need the extended handle - thank you Powrtouch.

I had an extended handle for dealing with wheel changes after a disastrous attempt years ago with the mickey mouse ones supplies with the car.   So far I have only extended it a couple of times for the caravan mover when that needed greasing - (I actually
fell flat on my face once because it suddenly worked!) so hopefully a new one will be reasonably easy.

Perhaps my mover was faulty but when the dealer demonstrated it he said that it needed a lot of effort then proceeded to show how! Still, that was about 5 years ago and things change.  Just something to check befoe buying.
