Front Travelling Covers
Hi all, wondering what people think of front covers? We purchased a fitted cover from protech, they seem a very good fit which we have left on whilst parked in storage and when on the road. We have come across a small concern and wondered if others have
seen the same, namely the flapping of the cover at the top seems to be rubbing the top of the van. Any thoughts would be welcomed

What do I think?
I think that in wet weather I would arrive at a site with the outside of the cover covered in wet mud and grit. I would take the cover off and fold the wet muddy thing and put it somewhere. Where - underneath the caravan perhaps?
If I folded it badly I would get mud and grit on the inside and then refit the wet dirty cover for the journey home. Would that do the caravan much good?
No, I don't plan to buy one. The front of the caravan will have to take its chance, just like the front of the car. Daft bit of kit?

My thoughts
Working on a caravan site you see all the different "must haves" every year. I tend to judge how good these must haves are by the amount of them I deposit in the skip over the year. Last year there were quite a few front covers, not all of them from the
budget end.I think it started with the early aluminium fronted bailey caravans that were getting damage during towing, so someone came up with the idea. Just my personal opinion, I could find better use for the money.

Best accessory we have brought. We got one from Specialised Covers and it is excellent, protects from the mud of hundreds of sugar beet lorries from October to March. It fits perfectly with no rubbing or chaffing. When we arrive if it's wet and muddy
we hang it in our shower or if dry outside the van. When dry brush mud off and fold away. Takes less than 2 minutes to fit. Never leave it on in storage.0 -
Hi
We bought a front cover last year from Specialised Covers. It has been excellent and easy to put on. We took the caravan for a service last week and didn't put the cover on. We certainly saw the difference. There was mud all over the front of the caravan!
The cover also protects your front windows as well. We recommend the investment In one.0 -
We have used a Protec cover since we started towing 5 years ago and would not consider towing without one now.
Easy to fit and keeps the front clean when arriving on site/home.
If its wet when taking it off we leave it to dry in the awning then brush it clean before packing away.
No problem with rubbing etc with the cover fitted tight and snug.
