Wrong sized awning

Has anyone tried using an awning that is too large for their caravan?  I have downsized from a Sterling Europa 584 to an Elddis Affinity 482 and I am loath to give up my old awning (and unwilling to spend out on a new one!).

Any advice etc. would be gratefully received.

Is it an Isabella awning? If so they can reduce the size. Service is awesome!

We had an awning altered to fit another caravan, can't remember what kind it was, possibly Isabella. As well as getting a quote from Isabella, check out any local marquee/ tent suppliers, might be cheaper.

Not sure its in your area but try the Canvas Man near Burton on Trent, they will alter an awning

Thank you for your answers.  I will look into getting it altered.  It is a Dorema Montana and has served us well since 2011 and I think it has enough life left in it to make alteration worthwhile.

We had our Ventura increased by a metre by Triopair in 2014 cost £140 but cannpt tell it was altered.

Fortunately we live close to them.
