Hi

Whilst we were in the New Forest this year we saw a large awning (Over 10m) with a sewn in ground sheet

. I have been trying to locate a company that manufactures an awning like this but to no avail. Has anyone any ideas where I could buy one>

Hello Mollymeg and welcome to Club Together.

Whilst I can't offer any suggestions on what you're looking for, and I have done a Google search, this isn't something I'd want myself personally as manhandling just the roof section alone is enough to start divorce proceedings, either on a chilly or windy
day or a hot and sweltering day.  Wink

Somebody else might be able to help and I hope you find what you're searching for.

I tend to agree with Jill.  The problem is, the more you fully integrated,  the less flexibility one has.  I tend to be going away from 'full integration' these days.

Campervan awnings have sewn in groundsheets, but I've never seen a caravan awning with one.  Could it be a modified one, perhaps, that someone had had altered?  I modified the rain flaps on a previous awning, and added a section internally which tucked right
under the groundsheet, so I imagine it could be down with a strong sewing machine, and enough groundsheet fabric.

However, like the others, I wouldn't like to do it.  You'd have to use a proper waterproof material so it wouldn't be 'eco friendly'.  It would be almost impossible to keep clean when folding away, would be very very difficult to put up, and would affect
the ground underneath for longer length of stays.

The problem appart from  weight and dificulty in erecting is that on grass pitches I think both clubs ask you to lift them daily to give the grass a chance to breath

I have seen one in Spain,on a Dutch van, it also had a raised inflated surround about 4 inches to stop any water getting into the awning, I cannot remember what make it was only to say the couple had one hell of a job on their hands, it must have took them
about four hours to get it all set up.
