    Some years ago ,there was a "washing machine" that was designed to be "used" while travelling, it had a loose agitator you put hot water ,powder and washing in, screwed on the top and the movement while travelling and the pressure that built up with the hot water did the trick,my FIL had one,

    I don't suffer with problems in my hands yet but I can see that it could be a problem for the future. When we are away overseas doing the washing every few days isn't a problem as the weather is generally good so if the wringing out hasn't got rid of the
    majority of the water they still dry easily, but in the UK the weather isn't always as kind so it can be a problem getting them dry without a spinner. I do like the look of the twin tub will need to work on the OH as to priority over other items. The other
    problem with hand wringing is that it can easily ruin clothes as they get pulled out of shape.

    Apart from the cost of always using site machines, we have found that many of them do not rinse well and we get specks of soap powder left on the clothes/bedding.

    I'd certainly wouldn't want to use the machines on the Club sites if they are left in the same state as the sinks in the laundry at Durham were this week...coated in grease and with what looked like the deposits from where someone had been washing shoes. At least we know what's been washed in our machine.

    Yes, that can be a problem.  Despite notices forbidding it,  we have seen the machines being used for washing pet bedding.

    Always check the state of the inside of a site machine before using!

    I have a 3 kg mini mains washer by Leisure Direct, bought at Amazon. This has a spin function at 1.5kg. It washes very well, but cuts out on overload at a low fill level on the spinner. I use it in the end washroom,by filling it using the shower tap and
    draining through the shower drain. It is very good for underwear, t-shirts etc.

    I would recommend a washer, but not a spinner.

    When we go away we take enough clothes for the duration of our holidays and do the washing when we get back, why wash clothes when you are on holidays?? If needed then there is the clubs washing rooms.

    Write your comments here...we use the laundry facilities on site. But it is hugely expensive! Our summer holiday is booked, 17 nights away, a family of 5. It will cost a fortune as we can't take enough clothes, bedding etc for that long ... Not if we expect
    the car to make it up hills! The laundries are a great facility, and quick, but the price is steep. yet another way the CC discourages families and therefore discourages the next generation of caravanners.
