Hi Janey, the magazine is usually out a few days before the end of the month, so the October magazine arrives in the last week of September, for example.

    Hi Janeyb69

I've arranged to send the August and September magazine to you and, as bandgirl states above, your October magazine should be with you automatically in the next couple of weeks.

Hope that's all OK - welcome to The Club.

    Regards,

    Helen

I do read mine every time, but it doesn't take long with only a few pages of interest. It's one of those mags that live in the 'small' room and read out of boredom.

Letters, although not as entertaining nowadays, crossword, if they remember to print all the clues, glance at a few other bits, ignoring all hundreds of adverts, then bin. It's not a quality read, and the main interest to be had is tutting at the poor quality
journalism when the photos and site reviews are for somewhere entirely different to that advertised!Laughing

There are many on here that constantly rubbish the club  magazine but actually I don't consider it that bad.  True, I am hardly on the edge of my chair with excitement, but there are sometimes some interesting articles in it.

I dont quite understand the philosophy of those who  indicate that they dont want it. I don't believe that you get a cheaper annual subscription for doing that, so what is the advantage?

Looking at it at its worst, at least by donating old magazines to the Doctor or Dentists surgery or similar you might interest someone new to our hobby!

I recently considered cancelling the magazine.

I decided not to because I can see important club information being disseminated by Facebook. That only leaves the magazine or wait until the new year book.

I won't use the club app due to the onerous permissions it demands

    Crossword only.

Dont read Dom Jolly, can't understand why the club don't get local people to the area to review it instead of overpaying him!

I cannot see Facebook replacing the magazine as a fairly high proportion of members will not be on it. Don't ask me for the numbers but given the clubs age profile it has to be the case.

Just opened October's Magazine this morning, put all the accompanying detritus straight into the recycle bin and had a read at the summary at the end of the uninspiring  Towcar of the year booklet.

It was noticed that this year one of the important summary categories has been left out.   They are not telling if the cars in the survey had run flat tyres, or a proper spare wheel, or a skinny spare wheel or just a can of gunk to use in the event to a puncture or blowout.

Runflats aside, I would never buy any car which was not equipped with a spare wheel for either solo use or towing.

Strange the CC decided not to publish this info.

Have not opened the advertising catalogue ( Magazine ) yet !!

    Smile

What's the fascination with birds every month that warrants a 3 page spread ?

That and very spurious DIY modifications ?

The editor can use generic piccies and modular cut and paste writing to fill the available space. Just add a couple of words that mention a campsite and happy days. Send the same to a countryside mag and mention a country house and again, happy days for the author /editor.

Go into your profile, then click on Communication preferences and tick to unsubscribe from the printed magazine. Which goes for anyone else that doesn't like it and bins it immediately.

Have to say I like seeing the mag come through the door. I usually read it in bed that night instead of a book resulting in my partner referring to it as porn.

The only thing I useful in the comic is the updates in the CL section, which I then transpose to my Site Directory.

Given the amount of advertising doesn't the CC make a profit from the mag? If to many opted out, this could lead to a loss of revenue, as advertisers would not be so likely to support a lower circulation. This loss would have to be replaced in other areas.
    Subs, site fees etc.
