Haven deal
I realise the Club is always looking for membership deals. Yes I do realise that 15% is a saving.
That said is it sensible for the club to have a partner who is asking almost £70 a night to stay on a site?

I see no reason why not. I don't see them as a partner anymore as I see manufacturers offerein car price discounts as a partner. Presumably those that use Haven do so for the same reason as I use CC sites ..... they like them. So haven are offereing a discount
to attract custom. Sounds fair enough to me0 -
Not sure they are partners. It seems to me the club are simply passing on an offer of a discount for members with no benefit to the club although if you stay on a site charging £70 a night it might pay to join the club to get the discount.

Haven offers are promoted here as "customer offers">When did you last see Sainsburys telling you what offers there are at Tesco.Off peak when you can have a pitch at Haven for £9-90 all in is a direct competitor to the CC and Cl network. How do the £90/100K
pa Directors justify that> We use commercial site offers at the cheap times and would not contemplate them at this time of year and I dont think any other CC member would..You make a chioice, pick what you want and its no one elses buiness. What I woold say
is that the Commercial sites are now far better quality than CC sites, but there you go.0 -
£70 a night? At Haven? Gosh, whoever's paying that must be subsidising those "4 nights for next to nothing" breaks I've been reading about then!
yes it seems dear...however, this price is for upto 6 adults..........
for comparison, Hillhead (nearest CC to Haven type site) is currently £86.40 for 6 adults and a pitch fee.....

When anyone complains about CC peak prices the response is always "Don't use them if you don't like the price!", surely that should also apply to Haven.
Instead we get a lot of snide remarks
BTW we have never stayed on a haven site - yet!

I've never stayed on a Haven site. But I would certainly consider staying for a few nights if the very reasonable off- season prices are as good as I've read about. Provided of course, the Haven site was in the area I wanted to tour.
The Caravan Club might like to consider emulating Haven's business model regarding their off peak reductions as all things being equal including the prices, I would prefer to stay on a CC site.

It applies to all sites. Work out what you are prepared to pay and find the best site for your needs at the price that suits you.

Fair point if they expected loads of units to turn up with 6 adults on board. When did you last see any example of that? But it's a good marketing ploy none the less!
