Apparantly the programme "has given our pastime a massive boost".

Now, I thought it was a harmless (if pointless, but nothing unusual there, these days) programme.......but by no stretch could I describe it as a 'massive boost'.

It probably confirmed the suspicions of any non-caravaners that this is a weird sort of pastime and put the backs up of a lot of supporters of the pastime......and that's about as much as I could say about it.

Where is this "massive boost" going to come from I wonder? Because I can't honestly imagine thousands of non-caravanners watching those programmes and thinking "you know what, I really fancy having a go at that!" Wink

Perhaps the Editor should watch it again. It's on BBC 2 later tonight.

My initial thought was "what planet are they on?". It's hardly surprising given the total lack of explanation regarding the fiasco of this forum over the past week. I would expect to see Nick Lomas traversing East Grinstead High Street on his knees and clad
in sackcloth at the very least.

Well mate it appears the ED has been watching a different version of COTY than the one that prompted well over a hundred pages of comments.Am i surprized ? no not really its just another example of how out of touch the management seem too be with general
    opinion.

It is pretty obvious that the powers that be at EG haven't even got the brains to know when to stop digging the very deep hole they have already got themselves into.

I dont kow about any body else, but the forum being down was a complete non event and made no difference to my life.

Nobody died or nobody fell ill due to the Forum outage.

I'm sure the CC IT staff were working hard to find the cause of the intermittant faults and should be thanked for their efforts.

    For goodness sake!

How much longer are we going to have to put up with the same people whinging about COTY -The forum-the CC itself and anything they percieve as being a slight against themselves.

There are over a million people into caravanning in one form or another who love their vans, their clubs and the sites they use-so far only a vociferous minority have complained about COTY (REPEATEDLY).

So for goodness sake get a sense of perspective-no one has died or been stoned in the street for being a caravanner and if people are put off caravan ownership it will be because of the attitude of the few who always find something to moan about whether it
be a TV programme,Kids on site, dogs on site, noise on site,The Forum or anything else that upsets their delicate sensibilities.

I for one love caravanning as do tens of thousands of others and I say to the whingers-If you don`t like the club just go and leave the rest of us in peace to enjoy our hobby and OUR-not just YOUR club.

BTW just in case, this is tongue in cheek

I have not seen the magazine, and won;t for a few weeks yet but given that it is one of the official communication channels of the Caravan Club no one should be surprised that it comments about official Club activities in a positive light. If people want
the magazine to reflect members views then they have to write to the letters page?

Does it seem odd that given the vast anti COTY sentiment posts on this forum that not one letter, pro or anti, has been published in this months magazine? Not to me it doesn't.

    Admirable optimism, David.

Sadly, I reckon that you could write as many letters as you like, but if they in any way criticise CC they will never get near the magazine

I am afraid I was baffled by the magazine. It appears that they saw a different programme to the rest of us.

Forget what experienced caravaners said on this forum, what we at HO want to see we will. Notice the chairman is going on a bike ride.Hope he is more proficient than in towing a van.

Write your comments here...do you seriously believe that such letters would be printed David? I suspect that lots of letters of complaint were sent from those of us who watched a different programme to HQ.
