How does this Club compare with the ‘Other’?

I'm 'liking' your quote Kennine. Lovely song.

That is because it is new and the access to it is currently hidden. It did briefly appear on the members page but last time I looked I couldn't find it without doing a search function.

Thank you peedee, I knew I wasn't imagining things. There was a link to click on.
What I find disturbing is the fact that you are shown online when making a booking, not good in my opinion........

Well here's a difference! On the whole I prefer the C&CC booking system, no frenzy day and I can choose a pitch type. Well, that's if it's working - I've just tried 3 times using 2 different browsers to book a site for next April with zero success! I've
never failed to book a site with the CC system.Looks like I'll have to resort to phoning the call centre tomorrow!

I've also had problems with C&CC booking system moulesy, but agree when it's working it's fine....

Found the forum via the search function - only to keep getting the "Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request" message every time I clicked on a topic; or can you only read anything if you are signed up to the forum? I was logged in as a member
at the time, but not a member of the forum. Agree it is difficult to find, I didn't know about it until I read it in this thread!0 -

As it's only a trial a the moment perhaps they're waiting for a while to sort all those sort of problems out.

Nellie and InaD, if you "clear your cache" the error messages will disappear.....

Thanks Nellie, at least I know it's not just me. But how is anyone going to be able to use the forum, even on a trial basis, if it appears to have been like this for the last 3 days? Perhaps it will be sorted tomorrow as it's Monday and IT staff should
be back in work0 -

Well, I tried to post a reeply to thank you but it disappeared So: well, you learn something new every day; I did as you said and clicked
on a topic and hey presto, no error message. Perhaps something a lot of people know about, but I didn't. Will remember for future problems, thank you very much BT0 -

If I knew what you were talking about I might just try it, but on second thoughts with the disclosure of my name etc I don't think I'll bother.

Well after putting my real name on the C&CC website , i woke up this morning to find i hadn't been burgled ,my cars were still on the drive and my bank account hasen't been plundered, so i think i might sleep safe tonight
Sorry to disappoint you, Mr Huskydog, I was visiting a garden goods supplier looking for a new fence. But don't fret I'll be down your way very soon.

Nellie, go to Settings, click on History, then click on clear browsing data or whatever it says that means the same....

Thanks BrianT, I'll give it a go and see what happens.
Edit...Went to pc Settings but can't find history. Think I'll just give up and stick with what I've got.

The burglary is due next week as the burglar needed to spend some time tracing you.

I'll make sure I'm out ,then I won't bump in to him

The C&CC forum is down at the moment, perhaps undergoing modification.
peedee
Yes, they did say they would have to close down for a while to make the changes that have been suggested. Here's hoping they've listened to their members' security concerns.
Cheers

If they are amending it because of suggestions by users all power to them. I do wonder whether most of us underestimate how difficult it is to get this sort of thing up and running when you have had no previous experience of such things. The CC went through a very steep learning curve with this forum and we all know there is a lot more that needs doing and we look forward to the new forum. Apart from the heads up here most of us would not have known that the C&CC had a forum and I think its good that they have taken it down to hopefullly put a few things right.

We have been consistently in the CC and intermittently in the CCC for our caravanning life. This is mainly down to the location of the sites but also I prefer being able to choose my own pitch. That said when we had the RV the CCC system was much better
because we knew once we had booked we would 100% get a pitch on arrival at the site.Generally we have found the CC sites are slightly higher quality but less flexible.

we use both, and commercial sites and cls whichever is where we want to be. why would you not?

I have in the past used CCC sites as well as CSs. We used to do tent camping before we got delivery of our new caravan. However, since we got the new van, we've been using CC sites.

unless you are particularly 'brand loyal' id say that location determines whether we use either (or neither) club or CL/CS/THS.
IMHO, no perceivable difference for us...
the deposit/cancellation policy holds no attaction or deterrent, sites are pretty much as 'clean' as each other (why wouldnt they be....?), you can choose your pitch in all cases (subject to availability) despite what some think about CCC, prices are pretty
much the same (though marginally less for a couple, weve found)......so, no real difference, we support all types of site wherever we tour....

I agree in general with this. CCC is cheaper for oldies except at peak. I have found a discussion with a warden (holiday assistant) leads to a good pitch selection. They know the site much better than I do. A few times on CC sites, I have decided the next
morning that my choice was poor, but I have never been disapointed with the choice made on a CCC site0 -
In peak season the availability of Temporary Holiday Sites with the CCC is a big plus for them. The cost of club sites - both clubs- in peak season is becoming prohibitive. In low season it depends where the sites are open which club I use.
