Towing with Vauxhall Mokka 1.4 petrol turbo

Hi, We are new to the caravanning game and have a 2013 Sprite Alpine 2 caravan. We are looking to tow this with our Vauxhall Mokka and hope there are other members out there who can give us the benefit of their advice if they have a similar vehicle.

    hi we have the very same car ,and the max towing weight is 1200 .so you need to check weight of your van ,

    Hi john123. The Caravan is MRO 1013kg and MIRO 1164kg so in theory all is fine. Just wondering what the car is like in practical terms and whether it would cope ok. Our car is not the 4WD version.

    The MTPLM  is the loaded weight of the caravan not MIRO which is the weight with essential habitation equipment. The MTPLM is likely to be well over 100 kg more which would put it over the towing limit of the car if the towing limit is 1200kg. On that basis
    you will almost certainly have an illegal outfit when loaded.

    Sorry, my mistake. The MTPLM is 1164kg. So it's within the limits. All the caravan matching sites say the 2 together are a good match. What I am really intersted in is how would  the 1.4 petrol Mokka likely perform as a tow car and to hear from any other
    members who tow with one, what their outfit and experiences are.

    hi again been busy so not had time to answer you .ye ours is only 2wd aswell we tow aluna ariva which as a mtplm of only 950kg and the car copes well with rds m,ways etc so no complaints from us .hope this helps
