Xtrail will be ok but softer on the back end its built for comfort not handling.

I had two and the CX-5 out performs both as a solo car and towing. The xtrail in fact has never won a towtest award but the Mazda and old tig both have, winners in their group.

The Xtrail is also about to be built in the UK at Sunderland, so no longer made in Japan.

All the Jap cars i've had 8 in total all new were made in Japan.

Have a test drive in an XC60 if comfort is a priority.

Yes I am planning on that.  My local Volvo dealer tells me a new XC60 is due some time soon.
