Alko stabiliser lifts up during travel.
I have recently bought a 3.2 shogun lwb for purely towing my caravan. My previous car a Mitsbishi warrior was o.k. and towed very stable.Having just been on holiday with the new set up going down the A14 I noticed a bit of movement on the caravan, having pulled
over i decided to change the loadin around although i couldn't see what was wrong. On my way back passing the car i noticed the stabiliser lever had moved up ,i pushed it down and everything seemed back to normal and continued on.On the return journey i
paid particular attention to the stabiliser being in the right position. On the way back we stopped and the stabiliser had lifted up.I can't understand why?.

If you have a standard 50mm ball fitted as supplied by Witter, the Alko stabiliser is forced into the up position while negotiating a right had bend if the car and caravan are not on the same horizontal plane. An Alko ball is required that is about
10mm higher than standad to prevent contact with the 'cheeks' of the stabiliser. I had exactly the same problem with a dealer fit witter tow bar on a Santa Fe.0
