Insufficient data:) there are various sizes and weights of Pageants. Have you tried the matching tool?

Hi Marton,I to have had a look at the ford Kuga, nice looking car and whent on to the site matching, we have a Venus 550/4 and the match was very good, and the tow ball weight was 105kg, which I thought was very good. And when we was on Littlehampton site
was talking to an other caravaner which had just purchased a Kuga and was very pleased with the out come, his van was heavier than mine, so have a good look at the Kuga but make sure the one you purchase if you do, go to the clubs matching site, good luck
looking and plenty of good safe caravaning. Regards Brian0 -
I tow a 1350Kg Abbey with a Mk 1. Good steady car 30mpg towing.

We've towed our 1435 kg Bailey Pageant Series 7 since 2009 with Mondeo and then a Mk 1 Kuga and now a 15 reg 180 bhp Mk2 4x4. It tows like a dream and will sit at 60mph all day long in 6th. Very comfy and quiet, decent mpg (averaging 37mpg over the 20k miles
covered). barely any drop on the tow ball and steady in all conditions. Good visibility from the elevated driving position. Reassuring to know the 4x4 is there if needed. Downside - smallish boot (but there's only 2 of us).0 -
We got a used 2009 Mk1 Kuga Titanium (diesel, AWD) early last year to tow our 2 berth Abbey gts 215, when the Mondeo gave up the ghost. We now have an almost new Swift Challenger 480, which is a little bit lighter. We find the chunkier feel, and higher
driving position, plus the added feeling of power, much better than with the old car. True, the boot isn't cavernous, but there'/ more than enough room for our needs.0 -
Both the manual and Powershift (auto) have 6 gears.
I have a 180PS AWD Powershift that tows my 1500Kgs Swift Challenger SE
as if it isn't there.I am sorry but I just don't believe it. It may tow it well, but I think you will know that you have 1.5 tonnes on the hook.

I definitely know when I have up to 1800kgs on the back of my car even when it's biggerer & has more horses

I have had two mk1s a manual and powershift and Imo the latter is awful. So much so that I only kept it two weeks. Manual is excellent
Towing or not towing? Nothing at all wrong with the powershift, makes for a more relaxed drive. Towing or not.
Only downside to the Kuga, IMHO, is the small boot.
@OP You never said if MK1 or MK2? Try here for "real owners" reviews

I'm also on the market for a Kuga to tow an Elddis 482 (MTPLM 1300Kg). But I'm not sure whether to get a FWD or a ALD. is anybody able to advise on the manual or auto gearbox? I'd love an auto but I don't know what they are like for towing?

Any idea of the face lift changes?
I thought the present one looked ok.
Write your comments here..Really its just a face lift ,front grill change and back lights looks nice the grill is the same as the one on the ford edge you can see some photos on the net if you google ford kuga 2017 or 2016 face lift.Theres nothing wrong
with the current model the 180 is probably better than mine as it has more power they are also available in 2 wheel drive if you dont want 4 .tow ball limit is good at 105kg.0 -
I have a Kuga Titanium 150bhp 2.0ltr diesel 2WD which tows our Crusader very well, although I do have to go through the gears a bit on some uphill stretches. It has a detachable towbar & the upgraded Sony sat nav system that incorporates a rear view reversing
camera that makes hitching up a doddle. It's the first company motor I've had that I may well buy when it reaches it's third year, I'm that impressed with it.0
