Hi Markphil,
Have a search on the Antara owners club website, loads of info and you can search around without joining, Ihave the manual and it is a very good towcar, the only downside being it's a bit thirsty but other owners say its comparable to other SUV'S.

No additional Cooling should be needed, but you may have to remove a blanking plate in the grill, to aid air flow to the oil cooler. You do on an Insignia which is a similar type of set up.

I tow with a Vauxhall Antara SENav 184Hp 2014 model auto, from new. The car is a superb tow car, I have towed now some 20,000 miles with it across Europe, visiting Spain, France, Italy and the U.K. I tow a Bailey Unicorn Valencia and have been delighted with
the cars ability as a tug. The auto box is smooth and well suited to towing and the car is not lacking in power. I have always thought that this is a very underrated vehicle, as you can guess, I love mine.0 -
I recently purchased a Vauxhall Antara SENav 165Hp 2.2 D 2013 model manual. This is a fantastic tow car I tow a Pegasus 2 Milan (MTPLM - 1499kgs) this comes in at 77% so no probs in the towing dept, I know you have asked about the auto version but my last
tug was an auto and I did not much care for the auto box so reverted back to manual so I can decide what gear I want not the car.PS I agree with maxwell12 this is a very under rated SUV.

So managed to get some details, his car is still off the road, when i asked what the problem was he spent 30 mins ranting about the cost of the repairs.
1/ Damper failed £800 to fit as its self levelling!!!
2/ Auto box bearing failed replaced.
3/ rear diff failed, repairs on going.
4/ two rear tyres prematurely failed, tied to failed diff.
Car has 60K miles and is 4 years old, i don't think he will be keeping it.
