Kuga MPG
Thinking of buying a 2013 Kuga with 2 wheel drive, and wondering what sort of MPG I can expect from it. Owners comments please.

Sold my 2013 Kuga in March after 2 1/2 years, would record 40-43 mpg driving sensibly i.e. Keep to speed limits we don't live in a town so can't say what round town stop/start would be towing 29-31 with 1300kg caravan, once recorded 53mpg Northampton to Hull
motorway restricted to 50mph most way.I thought it an economical car for it's size0 -
Also suggest you look at the Kugaownersclub web site, good info/advice there

2009 Manual 2WD 134BHP. Over 5 years I've driven 20K, of which 7.5K towing 1350Kg. Best solo 51mpg, Best towing 33mpg. Overall average since ownership 40mpg. All measurements brim to brim.

Our 2015 180bhp Kuga 4x4 now has 17,000 miles on the clock. I never bother to check the mpg while towing etc but according to the computer we are averaging 37.3mpg including towing. Last years big trip was to Provence and this years was up to Scotland and
loads of trips inbetween pulling a 1450kg Bailey. I do like it and it tows at 60 all day long with a great deal of comfort. I do think its got a small boot though.0 -
I think the Kuga 4x4 is a fine car in the mid range class, but what on earth is the point of having a vehicle that looks like a 4x4 but is actually only a 2x4! Style?
Taller vehicles are generally easier to get in to if you/other half/family/etc have mobilty problems ..... and they're cheaper to run than the full fat 4 wheel drive versions. eg The R Class was available at the end of the production run as just RWD ...
and let's face it, how many times have you really needed 4 wheel drive?0 -
MM Actually quite often! I use the car quite a bit in the winter and its better on snow & Ice, but I appreciate it most on wet grass CL's. I pride myself on never spoiling the grass, and my big, wide tyres using 4 wheel traction & 3 litres at tick over hardly ever even bends a blade of it. I never need to use any rev's.
This area floods a bit too and my power and traction have pulled more than a few out of the kacky!

Would have preferred 4x4 but 2WD provided sufficient weight, sufficient grunt and a short rear overhang at the right price. Haven't got stuck 'yet'.

I've used CLs in the wet many times with my RWD Omega and never got stuck once or churned the grass either though obviously 4x4 is better

Write your comments here...I totally agree with you ... we've had a 4wd tiguan for nearly 12 months and it virtues never stop impressing . Come winter brilliant ,pulling van out of snow covered uphill moorland road brilliant . Down ion Devon at the moment
and got into flash floods ,a foot of water .... child's play , Audi dominated international rallying ,by introducing 4wd,to the masses . No contest for me .0
